The beaches

The coastline is probably the most unspoilt in Spain. The beaches are certainly among the best in Spain – indeed in the whole of Europe. There are miles and miles of them: 120 km in fact of golden-white sand, often backed by sand dunes and the heady perfume of pine trees.

They are mostly so extensive and wide that they are never crowded, even in the high season. The sand here is whiter and finer than on the other Spanish costas.

The sports facilities

These range from championship golf courses – there are several in the area – to tennis, all forms of water sports and even go-karting.

The wildlife

One third of Huelva province, which contains the Costa de la Luz, consists of protected nature reserves. The El Coto Doñana National Park is one of the largest in Spain and safari trips are available to explore this unique area.
